Homer Laughlin China
The company was originally started by Homer and his brothers in 1874. After overcoming a difficult begining, they eventually succeeded calling themselves "The Ohio Valley Pottery" and "Laughlin Bros. Pottery".
In 1877 after buying out his brothers shares in the company, Homer renamed the business "Homer Laughlin" and then in 1896 the company was renamed again to "The Homer Laughlin China Company".
